Shahada Ceremonies & New Muslim Support

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, we believe that guiding and supporting those who embrace Islam is a sacred trust (amanah) upon the Ummah. Allah reminds us of the bond that unites the believers, saying:
“The believers are but brothers, so make peace between your brothers and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.”
(Qur’an 49:10)

When individuals and families enter Islam through the Shahada, it is our duty to receive them with dignity, compassion, and generosity, ensuring that their transition into the faith is marked by ease and belonging. Allah commands the believers to stand together in righteousness:
“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, and do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”
(Qur’an 5:2)

In fulfillment of this command, we provide Islamic clothing—Khanzu, Abaya, and Dera—to the entire village participating in the Shahada ceremony. This support enables new Muslims to observe the principles of modesty and identity prescribed by Islam, while fostering a strong sense of unity within the community. As Allah says:
“O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to cover your nakedness and as adornment; but the clothing of righteousness—that is best.”
(Qur’an 7:26)

Recognizing that sustenance is a blessing from Allah and that caring for families is a cornerstone of faith, we also distribute food rations to each household rejoining Islam. Feeding others is a beloved act of worship, and Allah promises great reward for those who give for His sake:
“They give food, in spite of love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive.”
(Qur’an 76:8)

Through this holistic approach—combining spiritual guidance, material assistance, and communal inclusion—we seek only the pleasure of Allah. Our intention is to ease hardship, strengthen faith, and ensure that every new Muslim feels embraced by the Ummah. Allah assures us:
“Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it.”
(Qur’an 99:7)

We pray that Allah accepts this effort as sincere worship, places barakah in every act of giving, and makes it a means of strengthening faith, unity, and mercy within the communities we serve.
