Our Objectives

Our goal is to reintroduce Islam to the Rendille community and support their journey back to the fold of Islam through consistent da’awah, guidance, and long-term engagement.

How we work

We begin by building genuine relationships with the communities we serve. This means spending time with elders, opinion leaders, and families to earn their trust and understand their daily realities,

solutions

Our Programs

Shahada Ceremonies & New Muslim Support

We organise Shahada caravans where entire Manyattas (villages) can formally embrace Islam together.

Average cost: Around USD 8,000 per Shahada ceremony for an entire village (clothing, food rations, logistics).

Uji Feeding Program

Our Uji (porridge) feeding program tackles child hunger and keeps pupils in school and Madrassa. Children receive a nutritious cup of Uji that enables them to focus, learn and grow. The program has already increased attendance and reduced drop-outs in the villages where it has been introduced.

Cost: About USD 350 per village per month.

Masaajid & Madrassas

The Masjid is the heart of every Muslim community. We construct and support Masaajid and Madrassas so that new Muslims have a permanent place for prayer, learning and community life

Approximate cost: Around USD 33,000 for a Masjid with Maalim housing.

Boreholes & Water Bowsers

Water is life – and in our areas of work, it is the difference between survival and disaster. We support: Borehole drilling and equipping to provide long-term, sustainable water sources. Water bowser deliveries to villages during emergencies and severe drought when local sources run dry.

Boreholes: Approx. USD 60,000 per site (drilling + equipping). Water Bowsers: Approx. USD 300 per 20,000-litre trip.

Daii & Maalim Support

Knowledge must be carried by people. We support Daii’s and Maalims who live and serve among the communities, often in very challenging conditions

Monthly stipends and basic livelihood support Housing and transport where possible Training, evaluation and ongoing mentoring

Cost: Around USD 300 per Daii per month.

Drought Relief & Uddhiya

During severe drought and hardship, we organise large-scale food distribution to thousands of households. On Eid-ul-Adha, we purchase animals directly from the local community, strengthening their economy while distributing meat to families in multiple villages.

In 2023 alone, Da’awah Caravan facilitated the sacrifice of 192 animals for Eid-ul-Adha and food support to thousands of households in more than a dozen villages.
